indecisive.

February 28, 2010

I have never been an indecisive person…till recently, and over the most stupid things at that. I’d like to blame it on stress.

Sigh.

This time, it is an iPhone case.

Really, an iPhone case.

I want a customized one, but can’t make a decision on which image.

Anyone willing to cast a vote?

These are all pics I <3. Of course, Bryan no longer wears ABU’s but those are some of my fav pics of him. Decisions, decisions.

So, if you are willing to weigh in, please vote below :).

So, which image should I use?

Several weeks ago, my hard drive started clicking randomly. We thought it was possibly my motherboard flaking out and not supplying proper power, since I was also having random USB issues. Then, yesterday the grinding started. Sigh. Hopped on Newegg and ordered and new hard drive. Yeah, I REALLY have time in my schedule to be dealing with this.

Not.

I’m not worried about data loss, I use Mozy online and a network drive here at home, but man, what a hassle. I guess it gives me a chance to rearrange my file structure a bit and clean out some programs that I rarely/never use but I had everything *just* the way I like it. Oy.

I did upgrade by 90GB, so I guess I no longer need that external drive I was eyeing.

Yeah, trying to find the bright spots in this mess.

Too bad, I can’t just push it off on Bryan to fix since he leaves TDY Wednesday. I am fully capable of doing it but he gets so much more pleasure out of stuff like this than I do.

Anyway, just pray that the old drive lasts until the new one gets here so I have as seamless of a transition as possible and I’ll stop whining now :).

  • Is it geeky that I am excited for my new GPS to get here tomorrow?? Guess my GRLGEEK license plate is fitting then :). We decided to go ahead and buy a second one (poor Bryan gets the hand me downs always) since Bryan will be making 2 trips back and forth to Texas in the next 4.5 months and I will be making 1 for sure and possibly 2. Normally our trips don’t overlap, so having only 1 GPS works, but not this time. We’ll need it when we convoy to Vegas too, so it’s either buy it now or later.
  • For Thanksgiving, we were going to go to my Mom’s all weekend and have Bryan drive down from San Antonio to meet us, but Jacey really wants to hang out with Daddy’s all weekend. So, we are going to go to my Mom’s for Thanksgiving Day and then mess around in San Antonio the rest of the weekend. I think it is really starting to bother Jacey that after this short TDY, Bryan will be gone for another 2 months like last year. She’s okay when he is gone for the most part but I know it doesn’t get any easier with time like the old adage preaches.
  • And, since we can no longer volunteer to serve at the Waterfront Mission for Thanksgiving like we had originally planned, we decided to do it for Christmas this year instead. Bryan and I have both lost our eagerness for Christmas. I know the true reason for the season but all the materialism and commercialism really takes the joy out for me. This will be the perfect way to experience the true reason of the season, following in Christ’s footsteps and serving those less privileged.
  • Last year, Jacey and I (Bryan was still TDY) both walked in the Niceville Christmas Parade for the Relay For Life float. This year though, I have to figure out how to be in 2 places at one time. Being the 2010 event vice chair, I need to walk with the Relay float again, but this year, Jacey is twirling with the Twinkling Twirlers for the parade. Anyone know of an easy way to clone myself? Hmm…this might be the perfect time to enlist Mrs. M’s help (Jacey’s adopted grandma).

{day 281}

I love my iPhone but THIS annoys me…disorganization! There is no easy way to organize your apps. You can tell I started once upon a time but just gave up. Apple, are you listening?! Let me organize via iTunes and I’ll be an Apple convert for life :).

  • Friday is our 10th anniversary and we are heading to The Melting Pot for dinner. I love going there to eat. It’s pricey, but as a bander the extended meal actually allows me to eat a little bit of all 4 courses. Of course, I don’t even want to contemplate how many calories I ingest there…LOL! At least with it being more expensive, it is only once in blue moon that we go.
  • Well, I finally had to spill about Bryan’s anniversary present. We were supposed to go on a flight around the local area tomorrow (29th) morning but we had to reschedule till Friday morning because of the weather. I was bummed, because I had everything planned for this morning; Bryan’s work, childcare and all but what can you do?! So, now I have to search down childcare for Friday morning. Bryan is already off on Friday, so at least that is one less thing that I need to figure out.
  • Bryan already bought my anniversary present but now wants to get me something else. He knows I have been trying to find an eternity band to go below my wedding set. I want something unique. Emeralds are my favorite stone but they are pretty fragile and I need something that will stand up to everyday wear. So, he got me this (my wedding band has black accents). It won’t get here by Friday but I’ll share a real pic when it does.

  • Ahh, Twitter. It has become a new addition (follow me if you tweet, I’m thatdegirl). Along with that addiction comes finding a Twitter iPhone app that actually meets all my needs. I use TweetDeck on my computer but I don’t like it on the iPhone. I love how Twitterrific looks on my iPhone but don’t like how it handles my feed. I really like TwitterFon but the free version ads bug me. I have heard raves about Twittelator and BirdFeed but they don’t have free versions to try out. I am leaning towards buying TwitterFon Pro…anyone have any recommendations?
  • To Whom It May Concern,
I promise you, I do not need the benefits of acai berries, do not need my bits enlarged, do not want a colon cleanse. I promise I already have my high school diploma and do not want free airline tickets to Timbuktu. It would be more worthy of your time to send your promotions to another soul.
    Sincerely,
    Delete Is My Friend.
  • The other day, I got sent a copy of “Faith Deployed” by Jocelyn Green and Sara Horn from Wives of Faith contributed as well. Via emails, the author is just so sweet and caring. I agreed to read the book and then post a review. I haven’t had a chance to start it yet (hope to Saturday) but from what I have seen flipping through, it is going to be awesome. Faith and spouses are 2 aspects not heavily mentioned in military life as I experience it, so it is nice to see this topic addressed.
