Today is February 11, 2012.

Four years ago, on February 11, 2008, I heard a doctor say, “It’s cancer.”

Four years ago, I had to confront the chance that I might not see Jacey graduate high school, get married, have children. Sit in a rocking chair on a porch after 50 years of marriage holding Bryan’s hand.

Four years ago, I had no idea what was going to happen.

Four years later, I still don’t.

Cancer is a dirty DIRTY word.
