Well, Labor Day ended up not being so bad after all. Instead of our canoe trip, I napped the morning away in Bryan’s lap while he watched a Dead Like Me marathon and Jacey played on her computer. Then we took the lunch we had already packed for the canoe trip and headed to the beach.

The water was calm, clear and just perfect for Jacey and Bryan to go in search of marine life. And marine life they found…

Bryan found this live, whole sand dollar not too far out. It was the first time any of us had actually seen a live one outside of an aquarium.

We spent a few hours out there before the thunder sent us packing. We came home, took showers and then grabbed dinner on the way to go see Tops In Blue.

All in all, not a bad day…

Well, the rain isn’t going to hold out, so our trip was canceled. We’re all bummed around here now…

I am so tired for some reason. We even took a 2.5 hour nap this afternoon and it is only 11:45pm. Gee, am I getting old or what :-)

Tomorrow is our yearly Labor Day canoe trip (well actually, only our 2nd one but, that is because we have only been here for 2 of them). We go with the church and it is a lot of fun. We take our lunch and canoe down the Blackwater River. The weather looks kind of iffy though, so pray for no drenching rains for us!
