McAfee SUCKS!

July 30, 2006

Ya know, my laptop came with 3 years free protection from McAfee Security Center. It included a pretty cool spam filter (HUGE need for me) WHEN it worked….when being the key word there. It first started acting up and dumping all the spam into my inbox about a week after I got the laptop. I read on the McAfee forums how to fix it. Worked again for another week…..4 times now, I have had to go in and basically reset it. Argh, no more. I am going back to my trusty ZoneAlarm as we speak:-)

what title?

July 26, 2006

Why do we have to have titles? I rarely title my layouts because I don’t feel very original with titles so my blog is not getting a title today either…LOL!

Not a lot to share today, Bryan took Jacey to soccer camp this morning and I had a doctors appointment this afternoon. We did get Jacey’s closet gone through though and she has quite a bit of clothing for school already. All that is left for me to buy is:

  • khaki capris
  • denim capris
  • 2 or 3 outfits
  • shirt for denim skirt we already have
  • shirt for pink capris we already have
  • shoes
  • cotton shorts for under her skirts and dresses
  • backpack
  • 4 rolls of paper towels
  • 1 bottle of cleaning solution
  • 1 box of tissues
  • 2 reams of cardstock
  • 1 large bottle of Elmer’s glue
  • 1 container disinfecting wipes
  • 2 reams of copy paper
  • 4 plastic folders with pockets

Didn’t sounds like very much till I wrote it out…oy! Still not quite sure why I must buy cleaning solutions and paper towels when I pay tuition but such is life I guess. We’ll get that all taken care of tomorrow and Friday though while the sales tax break is in effect and before the weekend rush hits since public school here starts on the 3rd. Then after all this, we get one more week of calm before crazy starts:-) Jacey can’t wait.

Speaking of……what a little poser!

Trying out a offline post editor to see ifÂ? like it….ignore me:-)

I am SO tired…

July 24, 2006

I am sitting here fighting sleep..I should probably go to bed now but I am going to try to make it through this post first. If anything is incomphrehensible (including my spelling:-) please bear with me….LOL!

Jacey had a blast at soccer camp this morning. She was bummed we didnt stay and watch so I promised her we would tomorrow. We had a few other things we HAD to get done this morning and it is just so darn hot outside…blech. After camp, we had to run by Jacey’s school and sign some more forms and drop her physical paperwork off. Then we headed to Destin for lunch with some friends that I knew at our last base. One is down hre visiting family and the other is stationed here too but we just haven’t been very good at getting together. We should have, she’s a lot of fun and they move tomorrow:-( Anyhow, we had a great time at lunch and it was a lot of fun to get to see them.

After lunch, we headed to the BX to get Jacey some cleats and smaller shin guards. I also started a bit of school shopping for her. Found here a couple of shirts and an outfit on clearance and then stocked up on socks and undies. Tomorrow we are going to go through her closet and see what still fits and is good for school, then fill in the gaps later this week. Hopefully I won’t need to buy much, especially since things are likely to get stained playing with paint and glue:-) The rest of the day has been spent just lazing around since the weather is pretty crappy. Hopefully it will clear up overnight so it’s not raining for camp tomorrow. We shall see.

Till then…….

{about time}

July 23, 2006

Well, I guess it is about time to sit down and write a bit about Disney. I’ve been busy since we have been back but it is not going to slow down any in the next few weeks, so I’d just better get used to it:-) I’ll share a few pics here and you can find the rest on the website.

Monday – We left for Orlando in the morning and expected it to take us 6-7 hours, stopping for lunch, etc. It ended up taking us a while longer because we hit this horrendous rainstorm that had traffic at practically a standstill. Finally made it past that to the hotel (Shades of Green). Because of the storm, we missed our dinner reservations, so we got all checked in and then headed to Downtown Disney. Put our names on the waiting list at Rainforest Cafe and then walked around and shopped while waiting. After dinner, we got ice cream and headed back to the hotel for showers and sleep.

Tuesday – We got up early, got dressed and headed over to Epcot. We had booked Jacey a Princess character breakfast and once we got there, she was in heaven. Spent the rest of the morning, riding rides, seeing characters and taking in the sites at Epcot before heading back to the hotel for naps. After nap, Bryan and Jacey swam for a bit and then we headed back to Epcot for the fireworks and extra hours (for resort guests). We rode a few more rides and saw a show that had an extremely long line earlier in the day. Headed back to the hotel, grabbed a quick bite to eat and then went to bed.

Wednesday – We headed over to Animal Kingdom for another character breakfast, this time with the traditional Disney characters. Jacey really enjoyed herself and wasn’t scared of the characters at all like she was last year at Disneyland Paris. Stayed at Animal Kingdom till the afternoon and then headed back to the hotel for naps. Afterward, we decided to go swimming instead of heading to a nighttime show at the park. Jacey would have been thrilled to just swim the whole time (would have been a LOT cheaper too:-).

Thursday – We decided to head home. We technically had 2 more days on our reservation, etc but everyone was overtired and it was oppressively hot and crowded so we decided to save the rest of the days on our tickets and head back in a few months. We got home Thursday evening and have been just relaxing since.

Bryan still has one more week of leave so it will be nice to have him around for the week. Jacey has soccer camp all week, the truck goes back to the shop in the morning to hopefully get the paint FINALLY fixed, we have lunch with friends we knew in England tomorrow (they are here visiting family), we have to take Jacey school shopping and I have another friend from England that moves here on Friday. Then, Monday (31st) is our 7th anniversary…WOW!

Anywho, I will stop rambling now. Here are a few pics from our trip and a video of Jacey swimming. Little stinker surprised us both by being able to swim on her own. This is the child that a year ago would scream bloody murder when you put her in a pool.
